Our work involves a mixture of analyst and media relations, content support and marketing planning / project management. The European work sees Mark Charmer and Irena Popovska-Jones liaising with both our UK and US clients and ties into Pilot's US marketing and PR, run by Ventaja's Aimee Quemuel. The programme emphasises our ability to create a high quality, coordinated ICONIC international team.

Irena Popovska-Jones throws her bag into the ICONIC ring. 'Tenacious as hell' and 'always great fun to work with' are just two of the compliments that colleagues have used when describing new ICONIC team member Irena Popovska-Jones. Irena is experienced in working with media on stories in business and consumer media. Her work on handbag.com and Breast Cancer Care's auction of Margaret Thatcher's handbag in 2000 remains a PR legend amongst her peers. She'll be working with ICONIC clients including ISSEL and Pod1.

Charlotte Delaforce joins ICONIC Network. Charlotte joins the Network this month as we expand our copywriting capabilities on the back of a number of recent editing and content creation commissions. Charlotte began her career in the early 90s as a dazzling young hack on PC Dealer before moving over to PR and general copywriting. Her work has been published all over the place, with commissions ranging from a women's magazine problem page agony aunt to technical white papers. Charlotte knows technology and business language and is adept at translating it into something digestible and fun. Oh, and she also likes house boats. You can read her Guardian feature on the topic here.

Making an ACE Move - ICONIC joins new international PR network. The success of collaboration between members of the ICONIC Network has led to the establishment of a larger network operating in more than 25 countries. ‘The ACE’ stands for the Association of Consultancy Experts and promises to act as a central source of PR and marketing expertise for clients. It will also be a think-tank for PR best-practice both within and across international borders. The initiative is a new development in the relationship between the UK ICONIC team, Katharina Scheid in Frankfurt and Laurent Durgeat in Paris. It grew from our shared desire to provide an umbrella network to help clients deliver multi-country campaigns using small to medium-sized independent agencies and consultants.

Proving People Matter through PR. UK personal and business coaching team, The People Matters Company, decided in early 2003 that they wanted to raise the profile of their business using PR. They commissioned ICONIC to deliver a flexible campaign that eventually involved creating new media-friendly content, developing and editing website copy and introducing the company to the British trade and national media. Strong coverage came through this month in the form of a 2 page feature in the Guardian’s Saturday supplement ‘Work’ featuring Paul and one of his clients. We also secured an interview in FT Creative Business a week later.

ICONIC Studio opens in Bermondsey, London. IT and telephones may make working in different locations easy but you still can’t beat a bricks and mortar venue in which to do business. August saw the opening of our new, fully equipped work studio in a converted warehouse in Bermondsey. With lots of space and light, full meeting facilities, Wi-Fi hotspot and a great working environment the Studio provides clients and team members with an oasis of calm just behind Tower Bridge. Many thanks to all those who attended the launch party in September which we held jointly with Clink Street Press, our artist neighbours who filled the courtyard and railway arch backdrop with art for the evening.
